Why do dogs pant?
When humans jog, or do any physical activity they sweat. Now, why do we sweat? We sweat in order to regulate our body temperature which creeps to a hot level. We also sweat when we're nervous or excited for something, so our self-defense mechanism is different. Although it is known that these animals do sweat through their paws it is only considered that they're only effective way to lower their body temperature is through panting.
Now that you know this don't ever leave a dog in places where their body temperature can creep to extreme levels, because they could suffer.
