Why do dogs chase cars?
Dogs instinctive behavior is to chase like if they were after their prey. Like many other animals, dogs don't always do things that can be explained by logical reasoning; most of the times it's an instinctive reaction acquired through evolution.
Speculations come and go up to a point in which a theory suggests that dogs chase cars because they think they're chasing deer, or any other large wild animal. This theory hypothesizes that large wild animals , as cars, have killed dogs distant relatives, therefore there is a relation among these ideas. Although I've never heard of a dog wounding or "killing" a car, I have heard the opposite.
