Why do dogs bark incessantly when tied up or closely confined?

There are many reasons why dogs bark. One of them is because they feel frightened, another could be they are excited, maybe it's just a "Watch out!" signal, or it might be that the dog needs some friends to come home. The list could be endless, but if we're talking about a dog which is leached to a pole, for example, and left alone it just means that they are bored or don't feel happy about their situation. Animals in such conditions have not had a social life, or have not been affectionately cared of, meaning they do not know how to encounter situations surrounding humans. Another consequence of being tied up is that they don't feel safe moreover when they have been threatened when taken away their territory.

If you're going to tie up your dog, you should look for a rope or chain long enough to let the animal walk around and be able to go onto its house, always being aware of the perimeter of movement.
