Puppies and Urinating

Puppies have a tendency to pee a lot when they are little and this is mainly due to their small size. Puppies have small stomachs and bladders but they do need a lot of calories and are very energetic, so the intake and outtake of their food and eliminating process cycles are shorter than they are when they grow into adults. You can in general figure out how long a puppy will retain its urine by the age it is; usually it is the number of hours for the age of months he is, give and take a hour or so. When a puppy is around 12 weeks of age, which is around three months in age, he will usually be able to contain it for a period of three hours or so. 

In general they do "number two" around the same amount of times they eat in a day, this means that if the puppy is eating around three meals a day, you can expect for him to have around three bowel movements within that day. If your puppy has more bowel movements than this you may want to consider getting him checked by the veterinarian as he might be having problems and require special treatment.
