Pet Boarding Resort
If you are looking for a pet boarding resort to put your dog into, choose the same way you would choose a resort for yourself. Obviously this entails first visiting the place and observing first hand what goes on inside. Most of these places are more than happy to let the pet owners go in and see for themselves and many of them use it as company policy. If you are not sure of exactly what you should be looking for in a pet boarding resort look for the following things: make sure the dogs or pets are constantly supervised by experienced well trained personnel. Look to see if there is a place the dogs can go when they need some time alone. Check to see what types of equipment and toys are used in play sessions making sure they are dog safe. Make sure the pet boarding resort you chose also has vaccination requirements for all the dogs in the resort, and finally find out if the dogs are required to be spayed or neutered. Once you have confirmed all these things the pet day care will need to evaluate your dog. In this evaluation a trained staff member will probably ask you questions about yourself and your pet’s behaviour and temperament and will probably touch the dog to see how he reacts, then they will probably do a try out to see how the dog gets along with the other dogs in the program. If your dog has been accepted they will probably ask for the dog to attend the program regularly which is generally once a week at least as this is important for the dogs to maintain their links and friends in the resort. |
