Norfolk Virginia Pet Sitting
Our local Norfolk Virginia Pet Sitting caregivers gave us some advice on what to do in the case of allergies, since some of the people in my family suffered from it, and it was a problem for them whenever they came into the house. We were told that frequent grooming can help to reduce many allergy triggers because it gets rid of pet dander as well as other allergies that accumulate on a dog’s coat. If you suffer of allergies keep the following things in mind: Make sure to regularly shampoo your dog’s coat (as many times as the veterinarian tells you to). Remember that through cleaning and washing will get rid of dander and allergens and this helps to keep allergies under control. Important tip: never use human shampoo on a dog as it can irritate the dog’s skin. Dogs need to use special dog shampoo since they have a pH that is different than ours. Once you have washed your dog’s coat use a conditioner on his coat or to use a moisturizing treatment. This also helps to reduce dander and avoid future accumulations of allergens on the dog’s coat. Make sure to brush or comb your dog’s coat frequently (this should be done every day in the case of dogs with longer coats). You can brush your dog’s coat outside in the garden or in the park to decrease the amount of dander and loose hairs from floating around the house. Another good tip is to use a conditioning spray before brushing your dog’s coat, as it will help to work through any tangles and will definitely make the job easier and will help to reduce the amount of dander build up in your home. Thanks to our Norfolk Virginia Pet Sitting caregivers for this advice. |
