Bathe him with a special shampoo: The best way to avoid greasy hair is to bathe him on a regular basis. Use any dog shampoo, but the best are the ones that contain selenium and benzene peroxide. The grease shampoo eliminates fats and prevents the development of yeast, a microscopic organism that lodges in greasy hairs. Soap him well with the shampoo and let it act over the hair for a few minutes. This way, the active ingredients will have time to act. It is convenient to bathe him once a week.

Give Him a Bath with a Citric Base: To fight a greasy hair and to get your dog to smell good, bathe him with a dog shampoo that contains lemon or other citrus. These shampoos are effective for fighting greasy hair.

Put Him Maize Starch: A quick way to fight against greasy hair if you can't give him a bath is to spread some maize starch all over its hairy fur coat. It's very absorbing and it eliminates the excess of fat. Mix the same quantity of baby powder and of maize starch to obtain a good smell. You can also buy special powders for dogs. Most of them are composed of soda bicarbonate and talc. After applying it, comb its hair.

Add Oil in His Diet: Even if it seems contradictory, the oil in his diet will help him fight greasy hair. It is recommended to give them saffron oil, sun flower or maize in each meal, be it with a small spoon or with a big spoon, depending of the size of the dog. But don't give him too much; it could cause him a diarrhea.
