Cats are generally carnivorous in the wild which means that they eat almost primarily meat. This fact has left a lot of controversy about what cats should eat while living in our homes. Some argue that they have carnivore teeth, short digestive tracts and therefore are better suited to eating raw meat. Others state that cats should never have raw meat due to the possibility of salmonella and other bacteria as well as the difficulty of formulating a well-balanced diet. Making your cat's diet from scratch or buying it pre-made in a can or bag will be entirely up to you.
