Naturally Treating Scrapes
on your Dog or Cat's Skin

Scrapes, or abrasion, generally occur when the animal bites a zone affected by pruritus, especially in dermal afflictions, or can be caused by an inadequate collar, or due to an accident.

Treatment: make an infusion of new blueberry leaves and apply on the wound twice a day. You can add a little bit of hamamelis extract, which improves the preparation: a quarter of a teaspoon of hamamelis for every tablespoon of blueberry infusion. If you don't have hamamelis, you can use elder tree leaves or rosemary leaves. Never use greasy ointments because they soften the tissue and delay the healing process.
