Naturally Treating Dog Streptococcus
The only cause of streptococcus is, as with distemper and other canine disease, the horrible diet that modern dogs are forced to follow. I have often said that a large number of breeders would, if they could, happily feed sawdust to their dogs. The typical thing nowadays is to obtain easy-to-prepare and cheap foods and medications,. That, plus the horrible conditions that some breed houses are in -- all infested and full of urine and defecation all over the floor. Like that it's impossible to ensure a good state of health of the animals.
Feeding an animal in the correct way requires a lot of care, time and organization!! The preparation of the dog's daily food, based on fresh, raw, finely chopped vegetables, and raw meat requires time. Raw meat is much harder to cut than cooked meat is. In general, it is more time consuming, but it's something you've got to assume as part of the responsibility of having a dog.
The mere presence of streptococcus doesn't necessarily mean your dog has the disease, in particular when you bear in mind that the streptococcus bacteria is very common in the organism, present wherever there is pus or infection. It is when the organism becomes infested that the body becomes diseased.
Treatment: All the states of e.b.h., like in the case of venereal diseases, are actually mucous infections, and therefore should be treated with a lot of care. Internal disintoxication is a must. You should also clean the area where the dog sleeps and rests. Most of the medication and treatment is similar to that of distemper although it usually takes a bit longer – more or less three months whereas distemper is only about three weeks or a month at most.
