Naturally Treating Dog Jaundice
This is a disease that is caused by the diffusion of bile in the blood and which produces a greenish-yellowish pigmentation of the skin and conjunctives, even the gums and eyeballs. The causes are innumerable, among which figure: liver congestion – which often occurs as a sequel to distemper; due to the obstruction of the biliary conduct because of a gall bladder; or because of the entrance of a worm. There is also a kind of leptospirocal icterus which is believed to be caused by rats.
Treatment: A dandelion leaf and root infusion. This must be served warm and continuously. Rhubarb leaves are also good for this purpose.
Honey and milk should also be considered primary for curing this disease. If you use these things, you'll most probably have good results.
Another important thing: it is extremely necessary for the animal to follow a strict fast; otherwise, the liver won't be able to get rid of the toxins and the bile won't disappear.
