Naturally Treating Canine Meningitis and Encefalitis This disease is generally considered viral, and like distemper, the real cause is not entirely known. I relate it very closely to canine distemper; in fact, I believe that it is a modern variation of distemper. It can be cured following the same treatment I use for distemper patients although people who use the orthodox methods tend to claim that it is nearly impossible to cure meningitis and encephalitis in dogs. The most common symptoms are diarrhea, humid nose and eyes, elevated temperature and hot ear lobes. The fur of the dog also becomes stiff and the dog will itch all over. Treatment: Again, it is similar to that of distemper, just more intensive. When all the symptoms are present, the only real treatment that can avoid death is a fast and only water with honey. The water can be an infusion made of thyme, sage or oregano. Note: If you notice that the diarrhea is dying down, it doesn't mean that the animal is well again. The most significant signal is a normal temperature for more than three days. If the dog shows the same symptoms again you've got to wait until the dog shows normal temperature eighteen days in a row. |
