Dog Meat Eating Habits

Nowadays, thousands of dogs, actually most dogs if we count companion dogs, are habitually fed with cooked food, meaning that they are totally deprived of meat in their diet. And even at that, they survive. They are infested with worms, they expel a bad body odor, have a stinky bad breath and age prematurely; 70% of them suffer renal problems from seven years on and their senses of seeing and hearing lose keenness. Their teeth at this stage are blackened by a layer of plaque which needs to be regularly scratched off by a vet. But they survive!

It's amazing to notice how distant the effect of a diet of this kind on an animal whose ancestors, for generations upon generations, had been raised on a diet based on raw food, and who has been weaned and brought up that way for the first few months of his life eating natural food, so that later he is removed from his environment and submitted to a change of diet which is totally strange to him -- a filthy diet. It is easy to understand and imagine the harmful effects on the body, including the nervous system.

Therefore, when we raise any animal following the strict methods that I describe here, let's make sure that the people who purchase our dogs (that is if you are thinking of breeding), follow the same diet. As one of many breeders, I can say that by means of a quick exam to a dog's teeth and eyes you can determine if an animal is fed following natural methods or not; and we are usually never wrong. As many breeders have manifested, "animals that are raised naturally are so different!, they are full of life!" When we see such animals at expositions, the other animals, in comparison, seem worn out and old. It isn't, therefore, surprising that many of show champions are dogs that have been naturally raised.

One of the worst inconveniences that I blame on cooked meat, and on all cooked food in general - especially milk (cooking has changed the nature of the substance) - is the secondary effects they have when conserved for a long time, which is very different than conserving natural food. When raw meat is conserved for many days, in particular during summer, it "goes bad" or "gamey (smelling spoiled or tainted)", it becomes soft inside. You can give this meat to any animal, but for a dog is the most natural thing in the world to eat meat in that state.
