Dog Houses

If you want to breed dogs naturally, the dog house must be spacious, well ventilated, sunny and dry. Dogs, because they belong to the family of the Wolf, are very comfortable in cold weather, although they hate humidity.

In a humid climate, the best heat that man can provide the house dog with is a bed made of vegetable material, like hay, straw, etc. sawdust on the floor also provides heat and absorbs humidity. Nevertheless, long-haired breeds cannot have these kinds of beds as their fur gets tangled. Conversely, you can use thick layers of newspapers bundled up inside of sacks. Wash the sacks frequently because otherwise they can harbor flees and lice.

Waterproof roofs clause an uncomfortable and oppressive heat during hot months. Dogs do not know how to demonstrate their affliction, but they hate hot dog houses. In order to avoid that uncomfortable situation, you can place sacks soaked in cold water on the roof when the sun is very strong, or sprinkle cold water on the roof many times a day. Cement floors also get terribly hot and need to be refreshed. I personally don't like cement wherever my dogs are going to be.

Remember that dogs shouldn't be confined to their doghouse and surrounding patio, which is often used for other things than just for the dog and is usually quite dirty. They have a need to run around in the open.
