Heartworm Medication for Dog

Heartworm Medication for Dog

I have a big dog that lives in a backyard kennel and so I always make sure that he is up to date on his heartworm medication for dogs. There are a num

ber of obvious differences between setting up a small dog kennel and setting one up for a big dog. Possibly the biggest differences can be found in the size of kennel required and the height of the perimeter. With big dogs it is necessary to provide not only adequate space but you also must make sure that there is no way that the dog can jump over the kennel perimeter fence. This usually means that it is necessary to have a perimeter fence that is at least 7' high.

While this is that safest and best option it can cause the kennel to end up looking like a cage and is often not the prettiest thing to look at.

On the other hand small dog kennels are not as obtrusive and since it isn't necessary to make the perimeter fence so high you are still able to have physical contact with your dog without having to open the kennel gate. One very important thing with small dog kennels is the size of the holes in the wire mesh perimeter fencing. Now there are two types of dog kennel fencing the 100% steel uni-body chain link wire mesh perimeter system and the 8 gauge heavy duty steel 2" x 4" welded wire system but if you have a small dog it is better to use the chain link wire mesh fencing however if your dog is larger and there is no danger of it putting its head through the 2" x 4" welded wire mesh then that is just as good if not slightly easier to keep clean.

A small dog kennel should be kept locked at all times to avoid unauthorized entry and any food or water bowls should be kept away from the perimeter fencing to avoid attracting wild animals or stray pets.
