Dog Bite Insurance

I have a big dog and so I had to get dog bite insurance as it is required by the local municipality. On the insurance policy it stipulates that the dog kennel must always be kept locked. Also it the insurance company suggested that before buying a large dog kennel for your large dog it is a very good idea to carefully inspect the type of gate and gate closure that the kennel uses. Big dogs have a habit of destroying things just through their sheer size and force. Because of this the locking device on the dog kennel gate must be able to withstand the abuse that it will suffer from your big dog jumping up against it or pushing against it with its body. In the same way the chain link fencing that is attached to the frame of the dog kennel must be adequate for your dog. If it is not firmly connected to the frame of the dog kennel then it could come undone and pose a risk of injury to your dog or even allow it to escape. It is very important that you give your big dog adequate kennel training before expecting it to live safely and happily inside its new kennel. With large dogs (because of their size and weight) it is vital that their kennels be secured to the ground or some other solid structure. Many dog kennels are constructed in such a way that only need to be placed in a location and by their sheer weight and solidness they are fine. But this is not the case really the case with large dog kennels. Special care must be taken that the kennel cannot move or fall over or fall apart due to the dog intentionally or unintentionally moving the kennels perimeter fences or gate. In the same way the locking mechanism that the kennel gate employs should be check to make sure that it is adequate for your dog.
