One obvious reason is because your dog could accidentally open the gate of the dog kennel just by pushing on it too hard and then it could escape. For this reason it is always best to make sure that your dog's kennel door locking mechanism is made of steel and not aluminum. No matter how sophisticated the locking mechanism on the dog kennel door there is always the possibility that it could become worn or simply not shut properly creating the risk of your dog's kennel gate opening when it isn't supposed to. Another more serious reason for keeping your dog's kennel door locked at all times is due to the fact that nowadays there are so many people with malicious intentions wandering around looking for some way to profit from other peoples' innocence.
