Working Dogs are dogs looking for a career that are very intelligent are able to respond to many verbal commands. Another very important and probably one of the most important factors is temperament. A potential guide dog must be very friendly, tempered, calm, adaptable, and able to handle large crowds and noise, and not be affected by all kinds of transportation. Most importantly, a guide dog must learn to be obedient and yet be able to determine when "intelligent disobedience" is needed in order to insure the safety of its master.
