Veterinarians as Dog Family Doctor

When your dog is sick it must be put in the hands of a trusted veterinarian, also, it's better if it's already acquainted with the dog, that way it's easier for the vet to recognize it's pathological reactions. If you are sure that the veterinarian is indeed trustworthy you should try to keep contact with him/her and thus he/her becomes a "family doctor". Besides the conventional medicine there exists other alternative treatments, such as: homeopathy, acupuncture, animal kinesiology …… that can combine themselves with these.

Transfer to a Veterinarian Clinic

Dogs don't like to go to the veterinarian not even if they have never had any bad experiences. They can sense the smell of fear and excitement of the other dogs, as well as the smell of medication, all this makes even the bravest of dogs to become fearful and anguished. Always take it on a leash, it's better if it gets used to this from a young age to avoid future fears.

To transfer a wounded dog you can use a big open cardboard box, covered with a blanket; if the dog is small you can even use a bag or a basket.

A companion may be necessary when going to the veterinarian in car for an operation. The companion drives while the dogs owner calms it in the back seat or maybe even carry it.
