Time & Space Needed for a Dog
Dog if leaving in Apartment

Before acquiring a pup, you must think about spare time and space you count with. Dog you leave in a small 2 bedroom apartment, no yard, or if you work long hours, have different occupations and don't really have time to share with the family, you better forget about getting a dog, for this dog would have exactly the same characteristics of the owner: it would be used to be indoors all the time and secondly, with the owner never around, it wouldn't be very nice. A previous step is to ask an opinion from the family.

The education of a dog takes a considerable amount of time, too. Teaching the dog how to walk with the leash on and how to understand different orders is a necessity. A dog is a social animal that has to live in an environment in which rules are clear and precise. Taming is a form of educating the dog, as well as of showing who the leader is. However, time is not everything; qualit

y of communication is another fundamental factor. If the dog enjoys of a little time with its owner, but can feel attention and love, it will feel less lonely. It is fundamental to be conscious of the commitment having a do means. If it is not possible to plan it with the family, we strongly recommend you not to do it. You must never give a dog as a present. Unfortunately, during the impulsive Christmas shopping, the idea is definitely not unpopular, leaving a huge amount of abandoned dogs as a result, for families abandon their dogs when they are no longer cute pups, or when they don't know what to do with them when they want to go on holidays.

A dog is not a toy or a live soft toy you play with. It is an animal that will live with your family for 12-13 years and has the right to live properly, receiving the attention and love it needs. Space is also an important factor, although not as important as time. Many owners think the size of the house has to be proportional to the size of the dog, this, however logic, is not as simple. The personality of the dog is much more decisive when it comes to space.

Don't make the mistake of thinking that a dog will be happier if it is outdoors all the time, in fact, a dog in this situation would probably be terribly unhappy. Never forget that a dog, as a social animal, needs dynamic surroundings. Some small or mid-size breeds should be perfect for a flat, the Fox Terrier for example. However, these breeds need to spend a lot of energy and tend too be amazingly nervous. And if you think these breeds will do ok in a flat, you'll be surprised when you see your furniture tore apart.
