| | Dog Tick ProblemTicks can cause a dog to have a lot of problems due to the fact that they can transmit diseases while they are drinking on the blood. Ticks might look like very small, dark flat dots or they might look fat and engorged with blood and will hang from your dog's body. They usually focus inside the ears and on the legs of the dog but they can show up anywhere on the dog's body. If you see your dog has ticks there are some ways you can get rid of them: - Tick spray is very effective and it is a good idea to always have it. Simply spay a little on a cotton ball or a clean cloth and dab it on the area you see the tick.
- The tick should start to back off after a few moments of having dabbed the spray on it.
- Another thing that can be used and which is effective as well is mineral oil or alcohol.
- Once you have the tick get rid of it by flushing it down the toilet. Don't just throw it in the trash as it can easily get back to its dirty business.
- Once the tick has come out rub the affected area with alcohol.
- Never attempt to pull a tick out of the dog's skin while the tick's head is buried inside. Doing this can cause a bad infection.
