West Highland White Terrier Dog Breed

The "westies" were probably first raised in Scotland Highlands in 1880, are very energetic terriers with some different temper. They must receive adequate training at an early age. However, they can be tender, daring and alert. Their hair must be properly brushed. Originally, were raised for hunting small animals, and frequently were used to hunt varmints. At the beginning these terriers were considered as a Scottish terrier variation, but were subject to a strict reproduction planning to produce different characteristics.
