Where did Dogs come from

It's hard to say who are the ancestors of the modern day dog are, since there are many theories on the subject, but when observing the dog's behavior and habits the similarities it has with the wolf are more than obvious. Read on to find your dog breed origins.

In some archeological digs canine remains have been found which could be very well the ancestors of the modern day dog and tell us where did dogs come from. However, there are some remarkable difference between the two, which are now analyzed and theories have come up of parallel evolution, in which some species come from the Canis familiaris puitiantini, a very large animal related to the wolf and similar to some primitive Molosos, and other from the Canis familiaris nostrazewi, a considerably smaller canid and more related to the dingo. It is believed that most canine breeds come from the crossbreeds of the small primitive dog with different canid breeds; like the wolf, golden jackal, etc.  

There are many similarities between the dog and wolf; not only from the physical point of view, but including their social and character. Which is why many believe that the first to cohabitate with man were domesticated wolves. Of this theory were to be accepted then the dog and all the breeds we have today are entirely created by man. There is a good reason to believe that the wolf and dog are related; since most dog behavior is so similar that of a wolf.

Much of our companion's actions and expressions (some incomprehensible, while others normal) are clearly explained when analyzing the wolf's actions in its natural wildlife (which would lead to a direct genetic influence). Through the study of these behaviors, the canine is more easily understood and certain thing can be foreseen.

When the dog is born we notice the basic behavior and features of an immature wolf, where its habitation with humans had prevented the full development of its instincts, meaning it hasn't obtained the basic wild instincts that it would need to survive in the wild. From this point of view, it should be considered a neoteric animal. More
