Importance of Playing and Exercising your DogExercise is the most important factor in trying to train a dog. If your dog isn't getting enough ex ercise you will have behavior problems. Dogs who are tired and have had all the exercise they can get are good dogs. A dog that does not have opportunity to run, jump, explore and wrestle will not return to you on demand. Make sure that he is getting enough time to do these things. If he is not able to interact with other dogs then have him chase balls, let him swim etc. Remember that the more time you spend at doing this is not only helping your dog but you as well! Confining your dog to the back yard is not allowed. Most dogs hate being alone, and if they don't have anyone to be with they often times bark, chew, howl and try to escape their boundaries. Interacting a lot with him is the key to making him get the correct amount of exercise he needs. Play fun games with him and your family. Take him to the beach, to a big soccer field, or anywhere he can run about freely. Call him back and forth to you constantly. Play Frisbee with him, blow bubbles, play fetch, or let him swim. Any activity that provides exercise for him is rewarding for both of you. Safe dog confinement |
