Sunday Dog Dinner Recipe
Ingredients
1 kilogram of chicken
5 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
10 ounces of fresh peas and carrots
1 teaspoon of fresh parsley, chopped
½ teaspoon of garlic powder
Preparation
- Put the chicken parts inside 3 liters of water in a big pot. Allow the water to boil and skim off the rising froth. Once it boils turn the heat down to low and allow the chicken to simmer until it is tender and has cooked fully, this should take around 50 to 60 minutes.
- Once ready, take the chicken out of the broth and allow it to cool. Keep the chicken broth on the side. Once the chicken has cooled, remove the skin and get rid of the bones, then shred the chicken.
- Mix a little bit of water with the flour in a cup and stir well. Then add this mixture into the sitting chicken broth. Then put this sauce on to boil continually stirring until it thickens.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Next, add the peas, carrots, parsley, garlic powder and shredded chicken to the mixture. Then pour it all into a casserole dish, (previously greased with vegetable oil).
- Put it in the oven and allow it to bake for around 15 minutes or until you notice it has heated all the way through.
- Take it out of the oven once done and allow it to cool to normal temperature before serving out.
If there are any leftovers, store them in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
Serves 6 big servings.
Your Dog's ID
It is very important that all dogs have an ID tag (more commonly known as a collar) up to date with the phone numbers and address. It's better to keep the dog collar on him at all times even when you are not out just in case your pooch decides to explore the neighborhood without your knowledge. Remember that a dog that has a dog collar on stands a much better chance of being returned to its rightful owner than those who don't.
