The stems are a great source of protein and with the added milk and cheese this dish makes a great main course both for your dog and family.Ingredients Stems from 1 large broccoli, cut into bite size pieces 3 tablespoons butter 3 tablespoons flour 1 ¼ cups milk 1 cup of grated Mild Cheddar cheese Salt Ground pepper Steamed riceSteam broccoli stem pieces until tender but not too soft. They should retain their bright fresh green appearance. Meanwhile place butter in a pan and melt over medium heat. Once melted mix in flour but be careful not to let roux brown. Stir in milk while mixing steadily. When milk is hot add the grated cheese and let melt. Salt and pepper to taste. Put rice in dog bowl, place broccoli on top and pour sauce over.
