Siberian Husky Dog Breed Information
The Siberian Husky is the most widespread sleigh dog, known by the world, not only for professional trainers. It is very resistant and strong.
Height, weight: up to 60 cm high; up to 27 hg. Agile and light.
Fur, color: straight, medium length, flexible overcoat with soft and dense undercoat.
Appropriate for: winter sport enthusiasts, that move around in sleds.Not Appropriate for: quiet and inactive people.
As a member of the family: no aggression towards people. Kind and accessible, but very independent. Needs a person to guide it. Was originally bred by the Chukchi tribe as a sled dog to travel long distance. Nowadays, thanks to selective breeding, it is a good family dog.
Breed's character: great learning capability and therefore has a great adaptability. Not appropriate as a companion because it feels the need of running and freedom. It want to be demanded. In a pack, dogs worry a lot about each other and burn a lot of energy. Very clean.
Common sicknesses: robust. Propensity to ureter deviation.
Life expectancy: up to 10 years.
