Sheep dogs like the Shetland Sheepdog are breeds that have a natural instinct to watch, stalk and hunt. Shetland Sheepdogs are popular for their hunting skills and they have been selected during generations due to this. Each one of these skills has a different purpose for watching sheep, and all of them are very valuable for people that need them. Obviously the Shetland Sheepdog is surely a great sheep dog that is trained to not actually kill their prey, but to keep everyone in order. In a wild state the dog would look and wait to see if it's prey moves and in what direction etc, all of which will then help the dog hunt down his prey successfully.
