Saluki's dog soup recipeThe saluki is one of the most ancient breeds. Dating back thousands of years. Salukis were very important and respected in the land of the pharaohs, so much so, that they were mummified after they died and they were placed in the tombs of their owners along the Nile River.Ingredients 4 tablespoons non salted butter 2 baby cabbage , chopped finely 4 cups sliced carrots 1 cup raw rice 2 unpeeled potatoes, cut into slices Pinch of marjoram, dry Pinch of thyme, dry Pinch of oregano, dry Pinch of ground white pepper Salt 4 cups beef stock 2 cups milkUse a heavy frying pan and melt butter over medium heat. Add in the baby cabbage , and carrots and cook them until the baby cabbage are transparent. Add in the rice, potatoes, marjoram, thyme, oregano, salt, pepper, and the stock. If need be, add more water to cover the vegetables. Boil this and reduce the heat, simmer the soup covered, for about 20 minutes or until the vegetables are soft. Blend soup in the blender or food processor and bring it back into the frying pan. Add in the milk, and heat it up slowly on medium heat until it is quite hot (don't allow the milk to boil), Serve this soup over kibble or over leftovers. Makes 3 ½ liters of soup.
