Raw or cooked dog food

Raw or cooked dog food

The manufactured foods are usually cooked. The foods sold raw, such as conserved products or refrigerated ones, should be cook to avoid contamination with dangerous bacteria. All raw food or BARF, be for human or animal consumption, are carriers of abundant bacterial inhabitants and other microorganisms. The majority of germs in the food are inoffensive although it is not convenient to take a risk, especially when one ignores its origin and history. It is best to cook all fresh foods. Many hunt or guard dogs have died from eating rotten meat from dead animals that have a bacterial illness. An independent reason for cooking some products is that it improves its digestibility. The cereals and other starchy products, such as the potatoes, are not digestible unless they are cooked.
