Potatoes Au Gratin recipe for dogs

A wee word from the Irish: The beautiful and energetic Irish setter has been making a come back in recent years. Both a sporting dog and fun house dog this lively breed can be a pain to handle but once trained doesn't quickly forget his lessons. Slow to mature this dog needs lots of good healthy food and this recipe full of protein and high in vitamins C and B will unquestioningly hit the spot.

Ingredients
8 large red potatoes
1 cup Sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
1 cup ricotta cheese
1 cup milk
2 small eggs
½ stick of butter, melted
½ cup chopped parsley
Salt
Ground pepper

Heat oven to 165 C. and prepare 1 liter baking dish.
Thinly slice the potatoes with their skin on. Put water in a pot and bring to a rolling boil put the potatoes in for about 5 minutes. Pour off water and rinse potatoes in cold water.

In the prepared baking dish place alternating layers of sliced potatoes, cheddar cheese and ricotta cheese. Beat eggs, milk, parsley and salt a pepper together in a bowl. Pour over potatoes and cheese. Place baking dish in oven and let cook for approximately forty five minutes or until potatoes are tender and top is nicely browned.

Makes about 1 ½ liters of potatoes au gratin.
