Mistakes owners make with their dogs. Memory.

Overprotect the pup or young dog: Taking it in your arms and hide it behind you is a conduct that will cause insecurity and flea in the animal, which will probably bark whenever it sees something unusual. It is good to be cautious when there is another dog, but we must not exaggerate.

Punish out of time:Many owners think their dogs have memory and remember perfectly what they have done. We insist: dogs don't have memory. If you don't punish at the exact time, don't punish at all.

Dogs have no past or future, they just relate to the present: Punishing the dog when you don't even know when it made the mistake causes incorrect relations in the mind of the dog, as well as anxiousness, fear, and the thought that the owner may punish it without reason. If the dog did something and we didn't see it, then we must patiently wait until it makes the same mistake again, and correct it there.

Direct punishing: This is a big mistake. You must avoid direct punishment, this might as well cause fear towards the owner. Maybe the dog will obey out of fear, but this will eventually cause serious problems. An owner that hits the dog will not enjoy its company and sooner or latter will be bitten or barked at. Punishments must always have nothing to do with the owner. The dog must feel they come from the context, so it understands the bad action causes them.

Tell the dog off in an extremely nice way: A dog does not understand English. It will get your message by interpreting your intonation. If you tell the dog off sweetly, it will think you are happy about what it has done, and will probably do it again. Feeding the dog any kind of food at any time of the day. This is most harmful for the dog's health. Besides, visits would probably not be happy with a dog at the table. It is very different to praise a dog than to feed it just like that.

Leaving things the dog broke within reach: Make sure the animal is obedient, the fact that it obeyed your orders a couple of times does not mean it is prepared to be by itself. Don't be ingenuous. The best piece of advice is train your dog thoroughly before trusting him.

Thinking the dog is too old or too young for learning: There is no age for learning. Everything depends on our patience and willingness. Of course, the sooner, the easier everything will be.
