Owing a Dog - How to Purchase a Dog
Where to Buy a Dog

Owning a Dog

If you would like to adopt or buy a dog for the first time, there are a couple things you must know first. Here is a series of procedures on that matter as to facilitate your job in finding and owning a dog that suits your liking.

Your Day-To-Day Life with Your newly acquired dog
To acquire or purchase a dog means that you will be including him in the circle of your family. The dogs nature is to want to be accepted by it's pack and live among society. With time dogs have learned that man is their boss as well as their friend. For a dog to break that link that has been formed in time between it and it's owner, is something very serious and has a major effect on the dog.

You must always have in mind, though, that to be able to own a dog of your own, you must:

  • Be willing to live with him for at least 10 years, in some cases it is more.
  • Be able to afford the expenses which will cost to raise a healthy dog.
  • Be available to give your dog 2 or 3 hours of your day, to be able to give him the attention that he needs.
  • You must also have a good amount of space in which the dog can run and play freely.

If you can count on these conditions and these circumstances, only then should you adopt a dog and be able to raise it correctly. You should never accept to adopt a dog into your home, out of compassion or just out of your own intuition. The matter should be taken seriously and discussed about with the whole family.
