Installing the House Windows

Materials
2 -- 28" x 18" tinted Perspex
8 -- 1" x 1" x 28" wood trim
8 -- 1" x 1" x 16" wood trim

Tinted Perspex is the suggested material for doghouse windows since it doesn't shatter if broken and it's fairly cool in summer.

You'll probably need to cut the Perspex to the right size using your jigsaw. If so, make sure you change the blade in the jigsaw to a finer tooth blade which makes cutting Perspex much easier.

Useful Tip with large dog house plans : Tinted Perspex is quite easy to come by at most hardware stores. If not, you can always purchase clear Perspex and apply window tint which is found in most automotive stores.

1. Cut the window trim to the right size, using any of the leftover exterior panels.
Make sure it's not too thick so it's easy to work with

2. Secure the window trim with wood screws.
When measuring the trim, make sure it is the same depth in all the way around the whole window.
To do this, I used a small piece of wood 5cm long and placed it between the trim and the edge of the window so it was even, to make sure it came out right. Once you see it's the same depth all the way around secure with screws.

3. Cut the Perspex to the right size with the jigsaw.

4. Place the Perspex in place against the window trim and lay another layer of window trim on the outside edge of the Perspex.

Secure with wood screws. This will hold the window in place.
