Is it true that there are two kinds of diabetes identified with dogs?

Kinds & Symptom of Diabetes in Dog

Yes, the most common type is known as mellitus diabetes, or sugar diabetes. This is a result of an insulin deficiency, an hormone produced by the pancreas that stimu

lates cells to gather the glucose of the sanguine flux. Sugar accumulates in the blood flow, and the cells are deprived of their vital nutritive substance. When the critic level is reached, glucose goes to urine giving it an oversweet odor, and the increasing amounts are lost. The body tissue decomposes to face the energetic demands of the body, and this causes weakness. Normally, the mellitus diabetes affects dogs of middle age, and it is most probable to be found in females. Once diagnosed, probably daily insulin shots will be needed, and the dog will have to be closely supervised through regular urine samples. Urine is also important in the case of insipid diabetes. An insufficiency of the anti diuretic hormone causing a great urine production, because usually the reabsorbed water is lost while going through the kidneys. Therefore, the dog has a great thirst to compensate the lost water. The insipid diabetes is a relatively strange disease, and less frequent than the chronic renal insufficiency, which can have similar symptoms. Probably is caused by a brain tumor. A synthetic form of the hormone can be administrated to relief the symptoms, even if the real cause cannot be cured. Both types of diabetes are diseases that can be controlled, but not cured.
