Is it better to buy a puppy or adult dog? A male or female dog
Usually most of the people prefer to buy a pup, for the character is more adaptable and they can be educated more easily. There are some inconveniences though. A pup needs much more attention during the first months of life. During this time the owner has to constantly take care of it. Anyway, the experience of educating it and good times with it will be priceless. On the contrary, people who want to buy an adult will have the advantage of taking home an animal that does not need to be thought house rules and behavior, and you will not have to worry too much about health and feeding care. Nevertheless, we have to considering it will always be stressful for the dog to change homes. The dog will have to change some of its habits. Reeducation is a slow process, in which respecting the dog is very important. This is why buying adult dogs might be recommended to daring people.
Is it better to get a male or female dog
Choose between getting a male or female dog truly depends on the future buyers' preferences. Although the differences are not determining, there are some variations. One of the heaviest reasons is reproduction. However, having a bitch does not mean she has to reproduce once in a lifetime. In fact, bitches do not expect to be mothers, and do not get traumatized for not having litter. Bitches are in heat twice a year. During these periods, proximity of a male has to be avoided. It is possible for a bitch to be harassed by two or three dogs. On the other hand, we have to be careful with female diseases, such as problems in the reproductive system, or "psychological pregnancies". The frequency of visits to the vet will be the same as with a male. Advantages, nevertheless, are obvious: bitches are not as authoritarian as males, and are lovelier, which makes them perfect for children or the elderly. Moreover, their maternal instinct makes them protect the people they are responsible for.
If, on the contrary, you prefer a male dog, you have to consider they have a stronger personality, and tend to e more impulsive. A dog will only obey if you treat him with the firmness and authority he would expect from a leader of his herd. His behavior, however, will be more infantile and impetuous, and he will probably be more mischievous and playful than a bitch. At any rate, once the dog is 6 months old, positive qualities begin to blossom. He can become a great hard working mate, or a ferocious warden or shepherd according to the breed.
