Taking a dogs temperature

If you hold the dog by the neck skin, you can easily introduce a lubricated thermometer into his anus. It has to be carefully placed about 5 cm into the rectum and remain there for approximately 3 minutes. With dogs, you consider it a fever when it's above 38.5 °C. Young dogs, however, have a higher temperature than adult dogs.
