Homemade Obstacle Course Idea for your dog

Homemade Obstacle Course
 Idea for your Dog

Advice on building the obstacles on your own
Wood is the main material for the construction. You can work easily with out the use of special tools, it is also weather resistant if treated correctly and has the right stability. Use well polished boards (with nice edges); paint them with non toxic and eco-friendly varnishes and paints. Points, edges, strips, and candle stands must be galvanized and rounded out especially the surfaces that the dog must go over or jump.

Height Jump
Like a liston you can use a broom stick or a plastic stick. The liston is placed freely over supports that are height regulated if possible (tripods, tree stump, special columns for height jumping, stool). Put sheets or blankets as s screen, to avoid the dog going under the liston or skimming around it.

Learning phase, initial height, almost at ground level about 20 cm over ground level. Take the dog with the leash on him and give a light pull to encourage him into jumping, at the same time giving the command.

Jumping through the Tiredog obstacle course
Pick an old vehicle tire with a large inner diameter (from a bike or motorcycle). Hang it with several ropes toward different directions in a way so that the tire can't move. Fill up the bottom interior with sand or dirt, to avoid the dog getting stuck and stay hanging from his feet while jumping.

Learning phase: lean the tire on the floor when training is at the beginning of it's phase. Proceed as in height jumping.

Tunnel
You can build a <garden tunnel> with hoops cut in half or with sticks tilted making a campaign like tent (floor with grass). The interior diameter depends on the size of the dog, so he will be able to pass easily without having to crawl. Cover the tunnel with paper, boards or sheets.

Learning phase: start with a tunnel 1 meter long and try to draw the dog to go in and out in your direction. Go making the tunnel longer little by little so the training will also cover dark sections. Later on you can design a tunnel full of curves and angles.
