Homemade Dog Treat Recipe
For out dog Sandy's birthday we decided we wanted to do something special, so after looking into out different options we decided that the best would be to try out a homemade dog treat recipe that a friend of ours gave us. All of the ingredients in this homemade dog treat recipe are safe to use and our dog absolutely loved it. Here it is:
Ingredients
2 cups of whole-wheat flour
3 cups of unbleached all purpose flour
3 teaspoons of baking powder
1 cup of vegetable shortening
4 eggs
½ cup of corn oil
2 jars of liver flavored baby food
1 cup of crisp cooked bacon, crumbled
Pre heat the oven to 400 degrees F. Place 1 slightly greased baking pan aside.
Use a large bowl and whisk to mix the flours and baking powder together.
Use a pastry blender to cut in the shortening until the mixture acquires a fine crumbly consistency.
In another bowl beat the eggs with an electric mixer on medium speed until they are foamy. Then beat in the oil and baby food until it is smooth.
Use your hand to blend the homemade dog treat recipe mixture together well until it becomes a soft dough and starts to pull away from the bowl. Lightly flour a flat surface and turn the dough onto it, knead it. Break off pieces of the dough and use your hands to form walnut size ball shapes.
