Healthy Dog Treat Recipe
As most of us know, our dogs need plenty of exercise to stay in shape, healthy and fit and it is our job to provide them with healthy dog treat recipes. However it is also the responsibility of each dog owner to find out about the limits of his or her own dog. Remember that age, weight and general health have a lot to do with the amount of exercise a dog can get and how much food and why types of food he can eat. A senior dog with arthritis obviously doesn't need and shouldn't be required to do vigorous exercise, or be fed certain types of food that could affect him so keep those things in mind and talk to your veterinarian on how much exercise your dog should get. When looking for a healthy option to feed my elderly dog I ran into this healthy dog treat recipe:
Ingredients
1 cup of canola oil
1 cup of honey
2 eggs
1 cup of molasses
5 cups of all purpose flour
4 teaspoons of ground ginger
4 teaspoons of ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons of baking powder
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Oil 12 disposable aluminum loaf pans with vegetable oil.
Mix the oil and the honey in a large bowl. Beat the egg and the molasses until it is smooth. Then use a separate bowl to combine the flour, ginger, cinnamon and baking powder and then mix it in with the molasses mixture.
