Dog Head Halters

Dog Head Halters

There are different types of things you can use to train your dog quicker by gently helping him to settle down and trust that you are the one in charge. Head Halters for dogs are a very good investment, if you learn to use them properly; they literally cut the training process in half.

The idea of head halters is to teach the dog not to pull, by leading them under their chin. In other words when a dog is wearing one you are controlling his movements by controlling his head. Another benefit of the head halter is that when it is put on correctly it gently puts pressure of the dog's neck and head, which relaxes the dog and this makes him feel safer. If you are planning on using head halters these should be introduced to the dog in a gentle and slow way. You may want to use treats while you are in the process of teaching your dog how to wear one in order to create a good association. The results will be better for you if you introduce these things in a positive way. If you try to hurry your dog his struggle will only turn the halter into an interference rather than a help. Once your dog learns how to wear a head halter and learns to enjoy wearing it, it can have a really good effect on his behavior. Some dogs find it so soothing that they become calm.
