Grooming a dog with short hair
In general dogs with shorter hair require of lessgroomingthan dogs that have longer coats do. However, some shorthaired dogs have a tendency to shed frequently. In order to avoid a dandruff like problem and excessive shedding, daily brushing may be necessary.
- Use a currycomb to brush your dog. These are usually made out of rubber and they help remove loose hair from breeds with shorter hair. Currycombs also massage the dog's skin. Brush your dog's coat and tail with firm and long brushes.
- Use a brush to eliminate all the dead hair and any remaining dirt. Brush the dog's entire coat, including his tail and paws.
- Use a comb for the dog's paws and the dog's tail for the final touch. If you see that there is uneven hair on the tail, clip these with some scissors. As you are grooming and brushing your dog, check to see if he has any signs of inflammation, irritation, or external parasites.
