Giant Schnauzer Dog Breed Information

The “biggest fellow” of the Schnauzers. The Giant is a very useful dog.

Height, weight: from 60 to 70 cm. Weighs around 40 kg.

Fur, color: black or salt and pepper.

Appropriate for: those who really do want a dog. It’s a good family dog; if the house is big enough and if it has enough time dedicated, to take it out for regular walks, it can live in the city.

Not Appropriate for: precipitants and people that want a small or medium dog.

As a member of the family: it adapts itself well, but you must be very firm in its training. Is a good protector and guardian. It might bark a lot. It won’t take a displacing or substituting of its owner, it gets attached for life.

Breed’s character: responsive and sensitive with its owner, and distrustful with strangers. Impulsive and determined.

Common sicknesses: none in specific, the same ones as big dogs.

Life expectancy: up to 10 years.
