Dog Interactive ToysDogs who enjoy or are happy when visitors come over simply need something to distract them in order to keep them quiet or interactive with the visitor. Encourage your dog to play with a toy while he is running to greet your visitor at the door, this way you will teach him to do something other than bark. It will keep him busy, making it impossible for him to bark while holding something in his mouth. Make sure to get toys that he really likes so that he will want to hold it in his mouth. Leaving a dog toy box by the door is a good idea too. Encourage your visitor to pick out a toy for him and this way he will learn that having visitors is fun without having to bark. Get help in this from other dog lover friends, or family. The more practice your dog gets at greeting your visitors quietly the more he will do so and the better it is for everyone. Take your time at this and try out with different toys to find out which are your dog's favorites, keep him so busy with this that he forgets to bark. Taming doorbell madness |
