Free Plan for a Large Dog HouseBuilding the Back FrameMaterials: 1 -- 1 ½" x 1 ½" x 29" top plate 1 -- 1 ½" x 1 ½" x 29" bottom plate 3 -- 1 ½" x 1 ½" x 30 ½" stud 1. Connect the side studs and middle stud to the bottom plate using wood screws. The middle stud should be evenly spaced between the side studs. 2. Connect this halfway completed back frame to the base of the dog house using wood screws. You might notice that although the back frame of this large dog house is even with the side frames the top part of it may not be evenly with the back frame. This is normally due to bowing in the wood. You simply have to put a little weight behind and push the side frames in or out; depending which way they are bowed, until they are vertical. 3. Connect the left stud of the back frame to the corner stud of the side frame using wood screws. Repeat the same process for the right side. 4. Connect the top plate to the back frame using wood screws. If the side frames are vertical, the top plate will be even between them. If they aren't, and there is space between the top plate and side frames, adjust the side frames by pushing them from behind. Once they even out, connect the top plate. Installing the Interior Walls |
