Fox Terrier Dog Breed InformationThe Fox Terrier is a whirlwind of a dog, always willing and present, aggressive, daring and enterprising.Height, weight: up to 39 cm; approximately 8 kg. Always tense, like a spring. Fur, color: straight hair: stiff, thick and abundant; predominant white with brown or black spots and drawn on its face. Strong hair: curly and bushy; its under hair is soft and has the same colors as its straight hair. Appropriate for: people (and children) who easily loose their patience. Not Appropriate for: people in distress, unstable and nervous, not having the enough firmness As a member of the family: good watch dog; guards the car as well; very temperamental, can be noisy. Tireless and playful with children: excellent companion for going on adventures. It needs to be kept busy. Breed's character: intelligent, it learns from others weaknesses. Has a strong character and is brave. It can be for hours sitting quietly, with its attention on a rats hiding place. It was used in the beginning of the XIX century, for hunting foxes. Common sicknesses: kidney stones, glaucoma and senile diabetes. Generally the veterinarian only treats the Fox Terrier for bites. Life expectancy: up to 14 years. |
