Training Dog NOT to Bark
Training Dog NOT to Bark
Dogs who bark a lot aren't going to stop magically. Usually this problem gets worse before it gets better since barking is reinforcing to dogs. Speak about thisproblem with your family and work on a reasonable aim for your dog. Perhaps your dog barks a lot when visitors come to thehouse, if this is so, your aim might be to allow him to bark for half a minute and he needs to obey you when you tell him to be quiet. The training objective set for your dog must be reasonable and easy for your dog to accomplish. Your job is to talk about the dilemma and agree on a practical alternative, and then teach this to your dog. It's a good idea to start with smaller objectives or goals and then gradually upgrade the amount of time your dog is required to sit or be quiet. A dog that has beenbarkingfor a long time is not going to stop overnight.
