Bathing Your Dirty Dog
Remember to always use dog shampoo when bathing your dog, never human shampoo. Human shampoos are formulated with different pH balances and will cause your pooch's skin to have problems such as rashes or irritations.
Remember to not over bathe your dog either. Only bathe your dog as much as it needs. Give him a bath when he is smelly, greasy or itchy. Once way to keep your dog's ears safe when bathing is to put cotton balls in his ears as this will prevent water from getting into them.
Use a non-skid mat to put underneath his paws, as this will help him feel more secure and will avoid nasty slips. The water temperature should be warm to cool. Dogs don't enjoy hot baths as much as humans do and it does not relax them the way it does us. Remember to wear comfortable clothes when bathing your dog and expect to get wet, as you will. The normal bathing time for a dog is around once a month.
