Doggie Dumplings Recipe
Ingredients
1 liter of homemade chicken broth
1 cup of all-purpose flour
½ cup of breadcrumbs
2 teaspoons of baking powder
1 egg, beaten
2 tablespoons of canola oil
1/3 cup of skim milk
1 tablespoon of fresh parsley, minced
2 chicken breasts, without bones chopped in cubes
Preparation
- Put the homemade chicken broth on to boil in a medium sized pot and then bring the heat down so that it simmers. Then mix the flour, baking powder and breadcrumbs in a medium sized bowl and set on the side. Use a large bowl to then beat the egg along with the oil and milk. Then put the flour mixture into the egg mixture to make a stiff batter.
- Then add the chicken into the chicken broth. Drop the batter into the broth by using a tablespoon. Next, cover it and allow it to steam for 20 minutes (do not remove the top during this time).
- Once it is done, allow it to cool to normal temperature. Then serve the dumplings with some of the chicken breast and chicken broth.
If there are any leftovers, place them in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Dogs And Vegetables
There are many different types of vegetables dogs actually enjoy; amongst the most favorites are carrots, green beans, squash, broccoli and zucchini. The wonderful thing about all these vegetables is that they are good for your dog. Vegetables add nutrients, minerals and vitamins to your dog's body and are good for their systems.
There are certain vegetables that can be given to a dog raw such as carrots, which some dogs absolutely love and which are good for their teeth and gums. However there are other vegetables that a dog will enjoy more cooked such as broccoli and green beans since they will be easier to digest this way.
Make sure to wash the vegetables thoroughly before giving them to your dog. Or use organic vegetables if possible.
