Dog Skin Diseases & Fleas

Many disease show up on a dog's skin. If he is not too old, he should have a soft and brilliant fur meanwhile he enjoys good health - that is if he isn´t a straggly-haired dog.
Fleas: What's the first thing we think of when our dog starts scratching himself? That he's got fleas! When in contact with other dogs, it's very probable that a "traveling" flea might have jumped on him. Carefully inspect below the ears and around his neck. The revision will, additionally, be of great pleasure to the dog. The quick and agile fleas will try to run away in order to jump in the precise instant that you approach the dog. However, there is one public enemy of fleas: the vacuum cleaner. Did you know that the eggs and larvae live in the cracks of the floor and in your dog´s bed. The vacuum cleaner will, without compassion, will aspire them thus interrupting their reproduction. Therefore, you should vacuum everywhere and anywhere where the dog transits and plays. In cracks it is useful to use special sized nozzles. Aerosols also prove to be helpful. However, what to do with the fleas that are already on your dog? There´s got to be a way to get rid of them, otherwise they can transmit tapeworm to the dog (though not to the owner!). The radical cure is to use an adequate insecticide. Once the war has been waged, the fleas will float out dead in the bathtub water. If this all seems too much of a deal, there is another guaranteed solution: the anti-flea collar. This collar acts in the following way: the flea at some moment goes by the neck area, where the collar is. There it encounters the poison in the plastic band, which of course is deadly. Modern collars can also be used during a bath or under the rain; besides, they are harmless to the dog.
